Speleology in Maratea

There are many caves to visit in Maratea and its surroundings, there are about 131, including the famous Cave of Wonders. The Cave of Wonders, besides being the most beautiful, is also the smallest cave in Italy in which you can find ancient stalactites and stalagmites. 

Another important cave is Pertosa-Auletta, flowing with a navigable underground river. Along the way you will have the chance to visit the Hall of Paradise where you will find a beautiful underground waterfall. During the excursions you will always be accompanied by experts. These excursions do not require any skill and are suitable for all ages.
